Many people believe there should be stricter gun control laws. By this they mean, regulate the sale, manufacture, possession, transfer, and use of firearms. They believe if the government does not make stricter gun control laws, then gun violence and deaths due to guns will only continue to increase over the years. Although there are many people for gun control laws, there are many people who are also against it. Some of the people who are against gun control laws probably will not understand why there should be stricter gun control laws until something happened to them or someone in their family due to a gun crime.The United States did not have the civil authorities as we do today. Americans had to rely on guns to protect themselves as laws evolved. Times were different in America and that is why the Second Amendment was ideal. Guns were not as dangerous then as they are now.
